Helper Warehouse 1

ZACHRY is currently seeking an experienced Industrial Helper Warehouse 1 for new construction work.

Position Summary

A helper warehouse 1 will assist in receiving, inventory, store, and issue materials, equipment and other construction related item in a warehouse, storage area, and/or lie down the yard.

Qualification Highlights

• Must have 2 plus years of experience working on an industrial construction project in the warehouse or equivalent material handler position
• Must possess all Knowledge Skills and Abilities for positions (see below).
• Must be able to meet all physical requirements.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Position Responsibilities

• Assist team to Receive and count stock items and turn in packaging slip to materials clerk with the accurate material count.
• Unpack delivered goods and store in appropriate location until issue.
• Notify appropriate department when ordered item has arrived or deliver to appropriate department.
• Maintain inventory control by continuous tracking and inventory updates.
• Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
• Use identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment to mark all goods.
• Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.
• Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.
• Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
• Provide assistance or direction to another stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers.

Required Qualifications

• Must have 2+ years of experience working for an industrial construction project in the warehouse or equivalent material handler position
• Must be organized and have the ability to complete an accurate count of items received.
• Must have good communication skills, including the ability to read and write effectively.
• Must be familiar with basic computer operations.
• Must be able to follow directions.
• Must be able to use tools such as hammers and drills in order to open crated materials received or to crate materials that are scheduled to be shipped.

Preferred Additional Qualification

• Current Zachry or Zachry ROF’ed employee.
• Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
• Previous experience in this position with Zachry Industrial, Inc.

Reporting to:

This position does not have any direct reports.

Physical Requirements

• Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting and lifting.
• Will talk and hear to communicate.
• Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull: objects, materials, controls and tools.
• May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.
• Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off of platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.
• Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/spoggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves and leather steel-toed work boots.
