Video Editor

Wrigley Media is looking for a Video Editor to join our Post Production team. With the rapid growth of Wrigley Media, the successful candidate will be working on cutting edge technology with a talented established team, while having great attention to detail, being a strong team player, and have excellent creative editing + communication skills. Our Video Editors are true artists and an integral part of the storytelling process. Using advanced editing skills and keen eye for details, they are able to produce high-quality video content using a variety of software tools. This full-time position is based in Lexington, Kentucky. We are not seeking remote editors at this time.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Producers and Directors to creatively assemble raw materials into a final engaging sequence that meet distribution standards
  • Use proper editing fundamentals to create rough and final cuts that meet and exceed Client and Wrigley Media standards
  • Collaborate with Writers, Producers, Directors, Editors and Clients from pre-production to final delivery as needed
  • Properly organize, ingest, transcode, log, convert and archive media/projects throughout the edit process as leadership dictates
  • Appropriately and creatively: sequence A-roll and B-roll, choose and apply sound effects and music, mix audio, create and apply graphics and special effects, apply color correction
  • Manipulate, conform and edit many formats as well as conform final products into a multitude of delivery formats as needed
  • Daily enter and log edit hours, assets purchased, and deliveries created in the project management software
  • Ensure compliance of client project confidentiality and privacy
  • Continuously discover and incorporate the latest trends, techniques, technologies and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency and improve the craft relating to video editing, audio editing, and creation of graphics and motion-graphics
  • Implement best-in-class video production strategies, including media management and project organization to facilitate workflow from one editor to another
  • Consistently communicate with the edit team to maintain quality, best practices, and client satisfaction
  • Help other editors grow in their craft by giving feedback and sharing knowledge to ultimately improve and advance Wrigley Media Post Production as a whole

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (B.A or B.S.) Video/Film Production or Media Communications preferred; or four to ten years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of NLE Software (Avid Media); Audio Editing Software (Audition); Compression Software (Media Encoder); Design Software (Photoshop/Illustrator); Motion GFX Software (After Effects); Database Software (Access); Spreadsheet Software (Excel); Electronic Mail Software (Outlook); Project Management Software (FileMaker Pro); and Word Processing Software (Word).

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Has a passion for the film/television industry, specifically video editing
  • Proficient knowledge of Avid Media Composer and Adobe Creative Cloud applications
  • After Effects skills include 2D animation, 3D model manipulation, visual effects, and basic expressions
  • Works both independently and in a team environment
  • Takes creative direction while bringing your own unique ideas to each project
  • Experience handling multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment, under tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills, patient, imaginative, self-motivated, detail oriented, excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Skilled at presenting complex and abstract ideas clearly and with confidence
  • Technical aptitude, able to trouble shoot system and software issues
  • Creative under pressure
  • Highly developed aesthetic visual awareness and memory
  • Developed sense of storytelling telling creating rhythm, pace and tension that resonates with an audience
  • Deep understanding of delivery standards (broadcast, digital, web and international)
  • Good knowledge of contemporary cameras, file formats, codecs, frame rates, resolutions and their proper handling in a post workflow

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Non-Remote. Normal days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm. Occasionally evening and weekend work may be required as deadlines dictate.
