Audacy’s Internal Tools team is looking for a senior level engineer with over 10 years of experience developing, planning and implementing scalable back-end micro services. Proficiencies in NodeJS, TypeScript, Java and Kafka. Experience in building restful api’s and a strong understanding of the micro service architecture and headless CMS’s.


The candidate will work in a highly collaborative and cross-functional environment to deliver high-quality software services that drive client engagement and delight users.

The ideal candidate is a team player who is passionate about creating effective, high-quality, innovative, scalable products, and has extensive experience in building microservices and headless content management systems. We are looking for someone who can drive technical discussions, and build compelling presentations that clearly communicate solutions to stakeholders, technical and non-technical alike. We believe in self-empowered teams that can take a product from concept to delivery. This is an individual contributor role with strong development and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee the completion of large mission critical features and services
  • Create backend services focused on entertainment, sports and news content
  • Architect, prototype, and develop features
  • Help to identify goals establish deadlines and ensure solutions are cost efficient and maintainable
  • Create well defined and documented services.
  • Lead by example with quality code and best practices
  • Participate in code reviews and scrum ceremonies
  • Mentor mid and junior developers

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of engineering experience as a back-end or full-stack developer
  • Experience writing Java applications
  • Experience writing NodeJS applications
  • Experience designing relational databases, NOSQL databases as well as data structures for software architectures
  • Deep understanding of RESTful API patterns
  • Familiar with Scrum.
  • Hands-on experience building end-to-end software infrastructure: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, testing, logging, and monitoring
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work across environments and juggle many projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of Kafka clusters, partitions, and topics.
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures
  • Experience with BloomReach CMS
  • Knowledge of GitLab Flow
  • Experience with NestJS
Additional Information:
Pay Transparency:

The anticipated starting salary range for individuals expressing interest in this position is $120,000-$140,000. Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities and location of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity. This position can be located remotely or at one of Audacy’s offices in Denver, New York City, Philadelphia, or Chicago.
