JOB DESCRIPTION


CLASSIFICATION: HEALTH AND SAFETY

TITLE: CROSSING GUARD

CALENDAR: CROSSING GUARD

SALARY: GRADE 103


Job Goal Assist students safely through intersections and monitoring vehicle traffic

Minimum Qualifications:


  • High school diploma preferred
  • First aid training desired
  • Ability to work cooperatively with parents, students, staff and the general public
  • Knowledge of and adheres to all policies, regulations and rules
  • Vision and hearing adequate to exercise job responsibilities in a safe manner

Core Job Functions:

  • Place traffic signs where required
  • Utilize proper procedure, walking students through the crosswalk
  • Ensure student safety by ensuring students walk within the crosswalk lines
  • Report violators of the 15 mph zone, both pedestrians and vehicles
  • Perform related duties as requested
  • Perform all duties in a safe and prudent manner as directed
