United Performance Metals (UPM) is looking for its next team member dedicated to continuous improvement to join our Chicago, IL team. Supported by O’Neal Industries with 100 years of expertise, this opening will provide you the opportunity to learn what it takes to distribute specialty metals across the globe. Through advanced technology and global reach, our company prides itself on delivering excellence and growing opportunities for our Associates.

As an Operations Associate, you will be introduced to the unique world of specialty metals and begin working with our Machine Operators to create high-quality parts that are being used to innovate our world. You will learn how to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and tolerance-measuring equipment. You will also have the opportunity to master the machinery that flattens, slits, and edges our specialty metals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Following directions from Operators
• General fork truck operator & crane operations & basic material handling
• Assures sufficient supply of goods/inventory control
• Pull material from stock
• Process orders
• Check all specified tolerances
• Package material
• Prepare orders to be shipped
• Return unused material to inventory
• Manage space by consolidating material
• Housekeeping

You should be proficient in:

• Forklift Licensed
• Packaging Experience
• High School / GED
• Excellent Communication Skills
• Experience in a Manufacturing Environment

Salary info:

$19 - $20 / hr
