Position Title
: BOQ Validation Specialists (Mech, Elec, Arch, Process)


Position Description
:


  • Provides field validation of BOQs for a specific trade.
  • The Validation Specialists will be responsible for walking down actual tools and quantifying all installed or pre demolished components per the client Unit Rate methodology.
  • Accuracy and integrity is critical since it relates to contractor reimbursements. Client may spot check approximately 10% of the BOQs to ensure that accuracy is maintained.


Position Deliverables:


  • Perform field validation of contractor submitted (Bills of Quantities) BOQs for IFB reconciliations and change orders.
  • Submit completed field validation reports to the Quantity Surveyor (QS) for processing
  • Work with the QS to resolve quantity disputes with contractors


Minimum Requirements & Expectations
:


  • Education/ Experience
    • High school degree or GED equivalent
    • Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in applicable trade(s) in a semi-conductor or similar type facility, plus 1 year Construction BOQ generation or reconciliation experience.
    • Mid-level experience in the specific trade discipline (Electrical, Process, Mechanical, Architectural-Cleanroom)
  • Skills
    • Able to communicate with trades (speak language of the trades).
    • Need to be proficient at reading and understanding design packages and associated field bulletins (design changes), and contractor fabrication drawings for the pipe and mechanical disciplines.
    • Good communication skills
    • General knowledge of construction cost estimating for all discipline
    • General Knowledge of installation/Demo of cleanroom/Semiconductor Fab components/materials and associated integration with all other systems.
