Job Summary:

Our Digital Technology (DT) organization ensures that Raytheon teammates across the globe are able to communicate, collaborate and innovate for customer success. We create leading-edge technology solutions to prevent security threats, protect the integrity of our systems and support RMD’s IT infrastructures around the world. Principal System Administrators (Principal Specialist, Information Workplace Services) collaborate with a diverse team to support fast-paced, critical programs with classified information system capabilities. Success in this role means you are able to develop, implement and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments across various classified programs. Program teams rely on your collaboration and guidance to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions to solve complex IT infrastructure problems.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • You will provide System Administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux (Primary OS) environment.
  • The selected individual should have a comfortable understanding or knowledge Linux fundamentals to include bash scripting, patching, and security hardening.
  • You should be willing to work as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment.
  • You will use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems (OS)..
  • Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security compliance requirements. Provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned.
  • Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours, may require less than 10% travel to other local MA/NH locations, or other US RMD Sites as needed.
  • US Secret Clearance from Dept. of Defense will be required. We prefer that the selected applicant apply for and obtain at least an Interim US Secret Clearance prior to the start date.

Qualifications you must have:

  • Typically requires bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or in lieu of a bachelor’s degree should typically have 9 years of prior relevant experience, or an associate degree and 7 years of prior relevant experience is typically acceptable.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Experience with Windows Operating Systems (Primarily Windows work).

Qualifications we Value:

  • Experience in Linux Operating Systems (OS) – preferably Red Hat.
  • Experience with PC and/or Server architectures and troubleshooting methods and be able to assist in developing solutions and documentation to a variety of technical problems.
  • Master’s degree in IT or STEM related field
  • Ability to obtain required Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of hire date
  • Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, VDI, and ESX virtual computing methods.
  • Experience with bash scripting (Perl is also useful)
  • Experience with security hardening of Linux systems
  • An Active US Secret or Top-Secret Security Clearance is strongly preferred.
  • Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Sec+ CE or equivalent certification and an OS Certification
  • Experience with Red Hat Ansible, Satellite.
  • Experience with NetApp data storage and data backup technologies
  • Experience with Splunk, Nessus, Monitoring Tools
