Job Description


Vice President of Medical Services
/ Family Physician

Adheres to the spirit of the SALUD mission statement while performing assigned duties. Responsible for the operation of SALUD's medical and ancillary health care components, including medical services, nutrition, social work, case management, health education, mental health counseling, podiatry, pharmacy, and lab and x-ray services. Provides significant input into SALUD's migrant health program and oversees migrant/seasonal farmworker medical services.

Supervision Received:

  • Reports to the Executive Director (Chief Medical Officer)

Supervision Exercised:

  • Assist with oversight of the Salud medical department

Direct Supervision:

  • Medical Program managers including clinical quality and compliance. Training and risk management.

Qualifications


Education:

  • The Vice President of Medical Services must be eligible and licensed to practice in the appropriate clinical specialty in the State of Colorado
  • Must be Board-eligible/certified in Family Medicine from ABFM ( American Board of Family Medicine)

Experience:

  • Four-year experience in directing and practicing major clinic activities in a community health center

Licensure:

  • Possess a license to practice medicine in good standing in the State of Colorado

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong community and migrant health orientation
  • Be experienced in the delivery of health care to the underserved or migrant farmworkers
  • Must possess high leadership qualities and skills
  • Have demonstrated objectivity in dealing with new ideas and individuals in all disciplines involved in the decisions
  • Take the initiative in problem-solving and conflict resolution
  • Must make a commitment to SALUD and to the continued provision of high-quality health care to the underserved and to the migrant and seasonal farmworker population
  • Ability to speak Spanish, strongly preferred
  • Sensitivity to low-income and ethnic minority communities is a must
