It is magnetic, it charges fast, and above all, it is safe! Bringing all these aspects together requires careful orchestration of electromagnetism, passive and active electronics, state-of-the-art safety algorithms, communication over inductive links, and, of course, an appealing product design. Our products touch millions of lives each day… with consistency and dependability. Ever wonder how we achieve this? We rely on rigorous models that help predict the performance of various features across a range of products. We are looking for a system modeling and performance architect who is proficient in hardware/software interface. The candidate will help design and maintain models that are crucial to ensuring that our products perform consistently and dependably, well after they leave our hands. This role will have broad exposure to a variety of features that span a number of our products, and will collaborate with subject-matter experts from multiple domains. The successful candidate will be fluent in tools required to develop and maintain models. You will be responsible for developing system-level understanding of various aspects of wireless charging (although expertise in wireless power is not a prerequisite for this position) – power delivery, foreign-object detection, and communication and control. You will map this understanding into reproducible, predictive models. The models will provide quantitative insights to guide design improvements, and predict failure modes in factory builds, and during in-field operation. Your models will be used to strike optimal performance versus complexity and cost trade-offs.
