The social media video editor will produce high-quality videos using skills in digital editing, color correcting, and audio mixing. Primarily responsible for editing, encoding and compression for material produced for the office of the president. The primary video content ranges from small music-driven graphic videos, to one-person direct to camera social reels, to multi-camera interviews. Other essential functions of this position include timely identification of technical and creative obstacles, ideation of creative concepts in post-production, and managing social media video archives on the server.

Successful candidates will possess a bachelor's degree and minimum 5 years relevant experience in video editing in social media and long formats; and skilled experience using Premiere Pro and After Effects, must be able to edit MXF file types. Experience with DaVinci Resolve, and Photoshop, and interest in art, fashion, and design preferred. Time management, attention to detail, and effective implementation of archiving systems required. Responsible for edited video for executive presentations and social media outlets. Must have the ability to handle very demanding requests, and the flexibility to accommodate last minute schedule changes. Must be available to work outside office hours, weekends and holidays. Applicant must possess a strong working knowledge of the latest editing styles, techniques and equipment; continually research, seek out inspiration and provide recommendations on how to keep SCAD's video content at the level of quality expected from a leader in the art and design community.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years relevant experience in video editing
  • Premiere Pro and After Effects

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
