About the role:

The Senior Accountant role is responsible for maintaining the financial books and records in accordance with GAAP and the Company’s policies and procedures and will play an important role in the month-end close process.

This hybrid role provides flexibility to work remotely a few days weekly in San Diego, CA.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Performs all month-end close accounting transactions on a monthly & quarterly basis (journal entries, reconciliations, SOX controls).

• Applies working knowledge of accounting principles and practices including ASC 606, financial close processes, controls, and financial statement preparation to daily work.

• Ability to identify and implement effective process improvements.

• Possess initiative, strong decision-making skills and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to identify issues, analyze large data sets, develop, recommend and implement solutions.

• Performs ad hoc analysis and reporting.

• Coordinates and collaborates with cross-functional teams.

• Independently manages several concurrent projects, assignments, and activities.

Skills and credentials:

• Attention to detail as well as ability to understand the big picture view

• Strong interpersonal and analytical skills

• Ability to prioritize and meet timelines under pressure while producing accurate results

• Self-motivated and a team player

Qualifications:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree required with a focus in Accounting or Finance preferred

• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience with a focus in public or GL accounting preferred

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (i.e., pivot tables and complex formulas)

• Revenue Recognition guidance experience preferred

• Experience with SAP preferred
