Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Senior Payroll Accountant, we will count on you to:

  • Perform accounting functions such as payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budget, and financial analysis, general accounting, etc.
  • Extensive use of computer systems and worksheets to access financial queries to support financial records, prepare accounting reports and prepare various ad hoc analysis
  • Perform procedures and practices following company policy and accounting principles such as US GAAP, FAR, CAS
  • Manage weekly timecard submittal for payroll compliance
  • Process monthly prevailing wage DIR report, assist with certified payroll reporting
  • Review, code, and process various vendor invoices which involves project and department overhead allocations
  • Supply input into financial statements, variance analysis, and various management reports as needed
  • Review proper General Ledger entries and reconciliations for month end close
  • Work closely with accounting management supporting relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like the monthly GL Analysis, key financial metrics, and variance vs. budget.
  • Review, research, and correct accounting-related problems, perform intercompany transactions or issues of an uncommon nature
  • Response prompt and accurately to inquiries from Project Managers and Project Accountants.
  • Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications


Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency with MS Office including Word and Outlook, Oracle EBS, Excel, Pivot tables, Charts & Graphs, SharePoint
  • Customer service-oriented communication skills
  • Flexibility and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and collaborate with various managers in a challenging environment
  • Self-motivated, well-organized, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to manage confidential information
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is necessary
  • Creative problem solver who anticipates risks and opportunities and supports a vision for continuous improvement
  • Dynamic leadership qualities/team player, proven communicator

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent degree and/or experience
  • Accounting Experience with Engineering and/or Architectural firms
  • Experience with AP, GL Analysis, AR, Payroll and Expense Reports
