Boutique family law firm is growing and looking for a seasoned family law attorney who has experience in litigation as well as Collaborative Practice and/or mediation.
You’ll assist individuals in a variety of situations such as navigating prenuptial agreements and attending court hearings for divorce, custody, alimony/spousal support, and child support.
The prime candidate will have experience with a range of sensitive legal issues such as child abuse and domestic violence, and be able to maintain composure, negotiate, and argue effectively even in emotional and high stress situations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Confidently sell our excellent legal services to our potential clients
Oversee and manage the firm’s paralegals and client support specialists to ensure that all legal work is completed efficiently, accurately and on-time Assume responsibility for the firm’s legal productive pipeline – from legal strategy sessions to delivery of work to the client
Devise legal strategies and employ strategic negotiations to provide excellent client outcomes
Approach your service to clients with patience, compassion as well as legal acumen
Work closely with Owner/Managing Partner, Paralegals, and Associates to ensure swift action through the civil litigation process
Ensure clients are effectively represented at court hearings as needed
Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation, and forming a strategy for a plan of action
Handle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings as needed
Prepare legal documents such as legal pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and orders for a high volume of cases Maintain client files to ensure they are properly organized and up to date
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates should be great negotiators and communicators, specifically in situations when emotions and stress are high
Admission to New York State Bar
At least 5 years of Family Law experience, including no less than 15 trials
You must be a Certified Divorce Specialist™ or be willing to obtain that certification
You must have either 30 hours of basic mediation training or 15 hours of Collaborative Divorce training or be willing to undertake such training Competence with basic legal technology including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Westlaw or Lexis/Nexis, Google Workspace Suite, and Dropbox is required
Familiarity with CLIO Grow, CLIO Manage, and Family Law Software is a plus Compensation
