Our ideal Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will ensure effective and efficient care is provided as prescribed by the physician and as required by the facility's policies and procedures.
POSITION: To assist in providing appropriate aspects of quality patient care under the supervision of licensed therapists.
RESPONSIBLE TO: This position is responsible to Physical Therapists and the Facility Rehab Director.
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: Education: Graduate of an approved Physical Therapy Assistant curriculum. Is in good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards. Working knowledge of Medicare and other payor sources. Full knowledge of resident's rights. License: Current, active license as Physical Therapist, and is able to practice unencumbered. CPR Certification, as required for license renewal. Work Experience: Experience in long term care preferred Able to work on multiple tasks at the same time. Language Skills: • Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information, and to be easily understood through verbal communication in the English language. Mathematical Skills: • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. • Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, and volume. Communication Skills: • Must have exceptional communication and customer service skills, and be empathetic. • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, responsible parties, staff and outside resources and agencies. • Exudes professionalism in presentation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: ! Implements and executes on established patient treatment plan under the supervision of a therapist. ! Communicates with patients, families, referring physicians and other members of the team. ! Provides timely written documentation per facility and department requirements. ! Keys information into computer systems, including EMR ! Develops and enhances clinical and professional skills through knowledge and professional associations. ! Communicates with patients, families and other clinical staff of treatment variations. 2 ! Provides timely written documentation as required by insurance provider to meet licensing, certification, regulatory, reimbursement requirements and physician treatment plan. ! Supports and participates in department operations and development. ! Reports any changes in patient status or needs to supervising therapist on a timely basis
