New Home Field Manager
Reporting to the New Home General Manager, the Field Manager will manage the staff, volunteers, and resources associated with the construction of new Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity (AAHH) houses.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Responsible for all day-to-day jobsite operations at the subdivision, infill, and remote building locations.
2. Responsible for day-to-day jobsite safety and incident reporting at New Home jobsites.
3. Assure that all work on AAHH new home construction, including work done by subcontractors, is in accordance with approved drawings, current building codes and sound building practices.
4. Responsible for job cost management practices and adherence to AAHH Procurement Policy. Maintains site logs and documentation.
5. Supervise, motivate, and give recognition to New Home Site Supervisors and AmeriCorps members.
6. Responsible for Site Supervisor project assignments and day-to day management of Site Supervisors and AmeriCorps members.
7. Schedule and oversee the use and work of all paid or unpaid subcontractors who work on Habitat New Home construction.
8. Preparation of all lots for start of vertical construction including: grading, footers and foundations.
9. Schedule all inspections and perform all necessary coordination with municipal utilities.
10. Oversight of volunteers working with Habitat New Home construction, particularly in regard to building procedures, quality, and safety and serve as jobsite contact for the Construction Services Volunteer Manager.
11. Assure proper control, maintenance, storage, and security of all materials, tools, and equipment.
12. Maintain adequate tool and equipment inventories and manage the inspection / repair / retirement process.
13. Responsible for field training and development of Site Supervisors and AmeriCorps members.
14. Assist General Manager with the development of the annual budget and Build Calendar.
15. Serve as a staff liaison to the New Home Building Committee.
16. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Commitment to the mission and values of AAHH.
· Holder of a current NC General Contractors License and/or be listed as a qualifier on the AAHH NC General Contract License.
· Minimum of 7 years of experience in residential homebuilding with a preference to 2+ years in a production building environment.
· Strong knowledge of local zoning requirements and building code.
· Demonstrated experience in green building certifications and building performance standards.
· Ability to work with volunteers toward the achievement of department and organizational goals.
· Strong project management skills.
· Strength in hiring, managing and developing individuals and teams.
· Exceptional attention to detail.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The majority of the work is done outside on a construction work site. Daily exposure to dirt, dust, dampness, construction debris, extreme temperatures, construction noises, fumes and odors from construction materials will occur.
Must be familiar with and possess the ability to use basic hand and power tools for rough and finish carpentry, roofing, siding, masonry, cement finishing, drywall installation and finishing, vinyl flooring and carpet, as well as instructing others on their effective and safe use
