Editorial / News Writer of B2B News Publication
Editor, Journalist, Writer, Blog Writer, Storyteller (Remote)

We are a small but growing B2B news publication specializing in content for the retail industry (similar to AdWeek or Forbes but for the retail industry).

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and research industry news daily
• Write news headlines/stories (8/day)
• Write editorials that invite readers to discuss their opinions & insights
• Plan and manage your editorial calendar
• Maintain brand voice and direction, as well as contribute ideas to evolve it
• Enter articles into WordPress, edit, setup, and publish
• Create and schedule social media posts for published articles
• Weekly review of content performance in Google Analytics and Search Console
• Light review of social media reactions and engagement

Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in journalism or media
• 3+ years of experience as a professional writer, preferably in a B2B news setting
• Understands human psychology for writing (What makes a story interesting?)
• Adapts quickly to change
• Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Google Workspace
• Basic AI skills (i.e. ChatGPT) for research, writing briefs, drafts
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Knowledge of B2B news publishing and the retail industry is important, but being a quick learner and adaptable to change is more important.
