Network Engineer

Huntsville, AL

The DTechLogic Team is seeking a Network Engineer to collaborate with a Senior Network Architect and the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) to build out solutions for future enhancements at the MDA Advanced Research Center (ARC) in Cummings Research Park. This position requires an understanding of simulated ground test systems and the HWIL network required to support simultaneous testing approach.

The successful candidate will contribute to documentation with roll back options for upgrades, installations, replacements, and migrations of ARC systems and wiring infrastructure to fulfill future mission requirements. Other duties include creating, updating and maintaining equipment rack elevation drawings to support maintenance activities and accreditation requirements.

This position will report to the Lead Engineer to ensure the proposed network engineering and redesign meets the requirements of the MDA.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering related field or equivalent experience
  • Security+ CE and ability to maintain
  • Experience building out communications network systems
  • Understanding of Department of Defense security as it pertains to networking
  • Ability to adapt to change and provide courses of action for problem solving
  • Ability to approach new challenges creatively 9-15 years of related experience

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) Environment
  • Experience in test and/or BMDS
  • Expert Knowledge of Physical and Virtual Switching / Routing environments, common network protocols, and dynamic routing
  • History of infrastructure management, design, testing and integration
  • Knowledge of NetApps and Cisco hardware and systems
  • Experience with design, documentation, and implementation of complex network solutions
  • Experience with the design, installation and maintenance of fiber optic and copper data cabling infrastructures, including fiber path diagrams and fiber labeling
  • Experience in designing, installing and maintaining EIA/TIA 568A/B cabling infrastructure
  • Experience in data center design, rack layout, electrical requirements and cooling requirements
  • Experience working in secured spaces

Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.

An active secret security clearance is required.

This is a full-time position located in Huntsville, AL.
