Primary Responsibilities

HDR is looking for a passionate and hard-working Mining Intern to join our Resources Business Group in Denver, Colorado. This candidate will report to the Project Manager/ Remediation Field Lead and will assist the Denver resources teams with various mine planning and compliance tasks. Responsibilities may include:

  • Involvement in field work in varying capacities including planning, execution, and maintaining sampling and analytical records so that they are accurate, legible and on time.
  • Assisting mine permitting teams with mine permitting including field work, environmental report development, and permit application development.
  • Support the remediation team with various abandoned mine remediation tasks including development of planning documents, presentations, and summaries of the data relating to chemical and geotechnical analyses.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications


Required Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate Science, Environmental Planning, Mine Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related program.
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • Must possess strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment, while also being able to work efficiently in an independent role within a group to achieve goals.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of schooling completed toward an applicable degree with 3.0+ GPA.
  • Specialized skills/experience in mine planning, permitting, and compliance.
  • Preference given to local candidates
