MEDICAL RECORDS TECHNICIAN

Responsibilities
- Process all Release of Information requests (client, Social Security, attorney, subpoena, etc.).
- Manage CIS e-Chart creation, scanning and organization.
- Manage mental health clinical record closing/discharge.
- Monitor mental health record completeness and communicate with other divisions on corrections needed.
- Train new hires on release of information and medical record.
- Manage release of information from website and upload to e-Chart
- Intake daily labs and distribute to MD’s.
- Lead other medical records staff on managing CIS e-chart creating, scanning, and organization.
- Participate in performance improvement projects pertaining to health information management.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education and Experience
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- RHIT Certification preferred.
- Excellent computer and data entry skills.
- 2+ years of medical record experience.
- Experience in a healthcare setting, preferred.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and state regulations related to the release of Protected Health Information, preferred.
Schedule/Time Keeping/Time-Off
- Non-Exempt, Full-Time, Hourly, 37.5 hours per week
- Work setting: On-Site
