MEDICAL RECORDS TECHNICIAN

Responsibilities
  • Process all Release of Information requests (client, Social Security, attorney, subpoena, etc.).
  • Manage CIS e-Chart creation, scanning and organization.
  • Manage mental health clinical record closing/discharge.
  • Monitor mental health record completeness and communicate with other divisions on corrections needed.
  • Train new hires on release of information and medical record.
  • Manage release of information from website and upload to e-Chart
  • Intake daily labs and distribute to MD’s.
  • Lead other medical records staff on managing CIS e-chart creating, scanning, and organization.
  • Participate in performance improvement projects pertaining to health information management.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education and Experience
  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • RHIT Certification preferred.
  • Excellent computer and data entry skills.
  • 2+ years of medical record experience.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting, preferred.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and state regulations related to the release of Protected Health Information, preferred.
Schedule/Time Keeping/Time-Off
  • Non-Exempt, Full-Time, Hourly, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work setting: On-Site
