Job Description
NEEDED: Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN)
STATUS: Full-Time and PRN
LOCATION: 7410 S. MacArthur Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK
SCHEDULE(S) - Choose from the following:
- Working 40 hours on a fixed schedule consistently per week
- Weekday shifts working 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, five (5) days a week.
- Weekend shifts working 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, two (2) days a week (Saturday & Sunday)
- Weekday shifts working 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm, five (5) days a week.
- Weekend shifts working 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm, two (2) days a week (Saturday & Sunday)
- PRN as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS: Respondent must provide proof of the following:
- U.S. Citizen
- Maintain a valid and current, unrestricted license to practice nursing.
- Maintain a current CPR certification
- Shall have the ability to read, understand, fluently speak, and legibly write the English language.
- Resume: Must possess knowledge of methods, techniques, and procedures to perform job activities on various types of medical equipment and automated systems and of safety principles and infection control in the patient care environment.
- Possess the ability to relate and deal effectively with Physicians, peers, inmates, and others.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Preparing the pill line for administration,
- Delivering the medication for administration to inmate housing units,
- Performing basic nursing functions, such as EKG, blood pressure, vital signs, dressing changes, urine testing collection, and other duties as assigned.
- All work will be recorded and documented utilizing the BOP’s Electronic Medical Record (BEMR). LPNs will also assist in training new contract LPNs to become proficient in their duties.
- Must maintain confidentiality of medical records and sensitive data.
- Have some limited experience in the field of medical records, clinical or medical facility setting.
- Have the ability to use some independent good judgment, and tact in communication with patients, professionals, and others in the total health care delivery system.
- Will be responsible for receiving patients and explaining procedures to alleviate undue anxiety, submitting reports and evaluations as requested.
