Green River Correctional Complex is a 982-bed medium/minimum security adult male correctional facility located in Central City, Kentucky, and operated by the Kentucky Justice and Public Safety Cabinet, Department of Corrections. Our ultimate mission is to prepare inmates to return to society as contributing, law-abiding citizens. We understand that the best program to accomplish that goal is the example we set while inmates are under our supervision. The Corrections Vocational Instructor (for Masonry) plays a vital role in the mission through providing assessment and targeted vocational instructional services to offenders within GRCC.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Provide classroom and performance based instructional services in Masonry
- Adhere to supporting curriculum
- Set expected learning outcomes
- Prepare lesson plans
- Record student attendance and track in the Kentucky Offender Management System
- Enter and maintain student records, scores and completion dates
- Submit Program Completion certificates
- Supervise teachers’ aides and tool room clerks
- Maintain safe and secure learning environment
- Maintain classroom equipment and supplies
