HR Generalist

We are one of the top 10 of the AmLaw100 and we are looking for an HR Generalist to join our team. Seeking someone with at least 3-4 years of HR experience, ideally within a law firm and with CA labor laws experience. If you have worked in an HR Generalist capacity prior to Covid till now with at least 500 employees and have benefits, employee relations and LOA's experience, we want to talk to you!
You will be in charge of serving as a local point of contact for inquiries from staff members on benefits and human resources. You will be in charge of offering a range of human resources services, such as hiring, tracking employee time, and putting policies into practice.
- Serving as a point of contact for questions about human resources in the office; being familiar with most of the company's human resources policies and able to respond to most inquiries on your own; using sound judgment to refer complex questions and issues to the right resources; and following up to make sure the problem is resolved promptly.
- Coordinating office timekeeping tasks, such as confirming timecard approval with managers and supervisors and responding to common inquiries concerning timekeeping and Kronos and ensuring FLSA standards are met.
- Operating as the office's go-to person for inquiries on Paid Time Off (PTO), PTO accrual policies, how those policies are implemented in Kronos, and the yearly PTO sell back procedure
- Leading new recruit orientation and creating office-wide initiatives to promote new hire integration during the first year of work in order to satisfy the company's new hire retention goals
- Being the go-to person in the office for inquiries about firm benefits; being familiar with eligibility requirements for all health, welfare, and retirement benefits; being able to respond to basic inquiries about benefits from lawyers, paralegals, and staff; and, as necessary, using the proper resources in the department of global benefits and global retirement benefits.
- Managing a variety of tasks related to all facets of human resources, such as coordinating major efforts with Managers in other offices and departments, conducting research, and managing any other ad hoc special projects as assigned by the human resources manager.
