In anticipation of NASA awarding the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) contract in the near future, Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a Project Engineer for Propulsion to promote HLS and other programs as part of a diverse team that develops lunar landers, other cislunar spacecraft, and a wide range of critical technologies for civil, military, and commercial space programs.
The Propulsion Fluid System (PFS) Deputy Lead will boost the Propulsion Cross-Product Team for development of HLS with primary accountability for planning, establishing, tracking, and executing complex tasks within technical, schedule, and budget constraints and will report to the PFS Lead and program management on project progress. The PFS Deputy Lead will coordinate with corporate contracts, pricing, and accounting to ensure projects are set up and managed according to company policies and processes. The PFS Deputy Lead will work with customers and suppliers to ensure tasks are completed on time and budget. Candidates will also interface with the Propulsion Lead, program leadership, and other project engineers/managers, mechanical designers, component engineers, test engineers, safety, and quality within Dynetics. Candidates will work in a team environment to assist conceptual design through qualification and product implementation. Candidates should expect to interact frequently with suppliers and customers.
Candidates will be residents of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
Preferred candidates may possess a master’s degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institute.
