CASHIER Host/Hostess

Ruckus is seeking aFood Server / Host to join our team. Be part of a team that serves amazing food and fun craft cocktails as well as a unique dining experience to the greater Boston area! We’re here to provide amazing hospitality, and that includes our hosts going above and beyond to make sure our guests feel as welcome and as happy as possible with their meal. To succeed in this role, you will need to have a positive attitude and the ability to work well under pressure with guests and our reservation layout system. Previous work experience involving customer service in a fast-paced environment is preferred, but we are open to training the right applicants. Must come with a willingness to learn and grow no matter your experience level.

Qualifications:

  • Great communication skills
  • A multi-tasker; you can hold a conversation, properly manage guests’ dining times, organize our dining room by tables, and understand how to properly seat guests without overcrowding or overwhelming our staff
  • Team player with a desire to learn and grow
  • Prior hosting experience in a full-service restaurant is a plus
  • Must be at least 18 years old

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • The host is the first and last interaction our customers have with our restaurant, so a positive and kind attitude is key to this role
  • Learn and have an understanding of the restaurant’s history and concept. You should have a brief understanding of the menu, so as to take takeout orders from guests as well.
  • Seat guests and explain menus
  • Maintain reservations and waitlists with the ability to conduct proper floor management
  • Ensure tables are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems
  • Assist in resetting of tables, and ensuring that things are set up for the next guests arrival
  • Communication with managers and other employees with regards to guest needs, as well as communicating with the guests themselves to give updates regarding table status, and politely explaining
