Clerk: Individualized Educational Plan (IEP)

JOB SUMMARY
Provides clerical assistance to the administrative and teaching staff on matters related to special education. Work will include maintaining files, taking prior written notice, mailing documents, tracking timelines, and the use of office machines including a computer. Position serves as the collection and organization point, and disseminator of all paperwork related to the Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists special education staff with IEP process documentation including parent notification and follow-up to meetings.
  • Tracks timeline for referrals, evaluations, and annual reviews.
  • Completes Medicaid billing forms and SSIS forms.
  • Utilizes the special education software to prepare related documentation.
  • Makes copies of IEP’s for review and use by special education, regular education teachers and parents.
  • Maintains special education files and materials of instruction in an orderly manner.
  • Maintains and organizes student progress reports, data sheets and/or other appropriate documentation of achievement.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.

Education
  • High School Diploma or Equivalency Certificate required.
Experience
  • One (1) year recent office, clerical, and/or administrative experience preferred;
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities deemed sufficient to prepare the applicant to successfully perform the duties of the position.
