Senior Associate Scientist
100% Onsite as this is a Lab Based Role
It is key that the person is flexible with their work schedule, as the projects in the Lab will determine if schedule is changed.
Ideal Candidate will have:
- MS. in immunology, cell biology, molecular biology, biomedical engineering, biological science, or related discipline with 1-2 yrs+ relevant experience, or BS with 3-5 yrs+ relevant experience in biopharmaceutical development for cell therapies/biologics. Expertise and experience in adoptive T cell therapy preferred.
- Scientific understanding of immunology.
- Knowledge of analytical development.
- Demonstrated independence in experimental design, data analysis, interpretation, and presentation.
- Hands-on experience in multi-color flow cytometry, ELISA/Luminex-based assays and mammalian cell culture.
- Experience with next generation platform is a plus (microarray, NanoString, RNA-Seq, etc.)
- Proficiency in data management and organization, with experience using software tools such as Excel, Prism, JMP or other data analysis software. Experience with coding-based data analysis (R, Python, etc.) is a plus.
- Ability to write technical protocols, reports and SOPs with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organization skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to present data clearly and effectively in group settings.
- High motivation and drive to acquire new skills.
Summary:
- The candidate works within Product Sciences group, Cell Therapy Development (CTD). The candidate will design and execute complex experiments to characterize CAR T cell products, and support the activities related to the product characterization.
- This role will also develop analytical methods to enhance the biological understanding of cellular therapy products.
- The candidate is expected to have scientific understanding of T cell biology and skills to carry out a spectrum of in vitro cell-based and molecular assays.
- This role requires attention to detail, a healthy sense of urgency and a strong desire to learn.
- The candidate should be independent and result-oriented with good communication skills, and willing to work in a fast-paced work environment.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Independently perform experiments of moderate complexity in support of analytical development and characterization of starting material, intermediate product and final product, including but not limited to cell culture, flow cytometry, multiplex, live cell imaging, and other molecular and cellular assays.
- Develop and optimize cell-based assays under minimum supervision for supporting investigations and exploratory studies. Demonstrate self-sufficiency and ability to troubleshoot experimental challenges.
- Manage and analyze complex experimental datasets generated from cell-based assays, maintain accurate and organized lab records, author and review electronic notebooks, and document experimental procedures and results in a timely manner.
- Prepare clear and concise summaries of experimental results and present experimental findings in internal and external meetings.
- Author and review analytical test method protocols and assay development reports.
- Support team members through teamwork and collaboration.
- Ensure proper operation and perform routine maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Maintain a safe workplace in accordance with company and OSHA policies/procedures.
- Minimal interaction possible with hazardous materials
