LPL Financial (Nasdaq: LPLA) was founded on the principle that the firm should work for the advisor, and not the other way around. Today, LPL is a leader* in the markets we serve, supporting more than 18,000 financial advisors, 800 institution-based investment programs and 450 independent RIA firms nationwide. We are steadfast in our commitment to the advisor-centered model and the belief that Americans deserve access to personalized guidance from a financial advisor. At LPL, independence means that advisors have the freedom they deserve to choose the business model, services, and technology resources that allow them to run their perfect practice. And they have the freedom to manage their client relationships, because they know their clients best. Simply put, we take care of our advisors, so they can take care of their clients.

Job Overview:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Technology organization as VP, Middleware Platform Engineering Operations. In this role, you will be responsible for leading support and operations of our Middleware Platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Fanatically protect customer experience through capabilities and processes that detect and restore system issues as quickly as possible (through telemetry, monitoring, alerting, and both automated and manual recovery).

  • Contribute to delivering self-service capabilities across these platforms enabling LPL’s developer community to rapidly onboard, innovate, and deliver new features and value to our customers.

  • Contribute to integrating these platforms into a common management approach using DevSecOps and infrastructure-as-code pipelines and principles.

  • Contribute to platform management and maintenance of all Middleware platforms, including capacity, patching, upgrades, etc.

  • Develop strategy, roadmaps, and metrics that communicate and enable transparency into operational KPIs, key risks, and progress.

  • Establish feedback loops that ensure continuous improvement and prioritization of the highest value customer needs.

  • Leverage common tools, such as Jira and ServiceNow, for capturing, tracking, assigning, and planning demand/work.

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of high-performing outcome-oriented engineers, including onshore, nearshore, and offshore personnel.

  • Maniacal focus on both functional and non-functional quality of all platforms – delighting customers with always-on, high performing systems that can scale with the company’s growth

  • Responsible for financial planning/allocation and staffing decisions with focus on efficiency and investment efficacy

  • Promote the vision and drive organizational transformation through establishing/maintaining relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, including business, product, engineering, operations and management.
