Eaton’s Power Reliability Division is currently seeking a Vacuum Operator to join our team on 2nd shift! The hourly rate starts at $19/hr + $1.25/hr shift premium. The core hours for this position are 2:30 - 10:30 pm. This position is based at our South Milwaukee, WI facility.

This position is offering a sign-on bonus of $2,000*, less applicable withholding.

  • Bonuses are being offered for a limited time only. Applications must be submitted on or after January 24th, 2023 to qualify.
  • Bonuses are only applicable to specific job types and shifts; additional terms and conditions may apply.
  • Associates must be employed at the time of the payout.
  • Bonuses will be payable in two installments: $1,000, less applicable withholding will be paid after three (3) months of employment and the remaining $1,000, less applicable withholding will be paid after nine (9) months of employment

Position Overview:

The vacuum operator is responsible for the set-up, adjustment, and operation of all departmental equipment. This includes the operation of electropolishing, silver plating, hydraulic presses, spot welders, braze furnace equipment, and other operations performed as a vacuum operator.

In this function you will:

  • Assemble Vacuum Bottles
  • Perform hipot, length, pressure, and resistance tests
  • Operate Silver Plating
  • Load, unload, and operate the Furnace
  • Pre-braze & Spot Weld
  • Have knowledge of Hazardous Materials & their Locations
  • Read & use Production Documentation including Blue Prints
  • Notify department team leader/lead operator/supervisor/manager (escalation process) of all material and/or equipment deficiencies.
  • Interfere with other departments as production requires (Engineering, Quality, etc.)
  • Meet or exceed quality and quantity standards.
  • Keep work area clean and orderly.
  • Contribute suggestions for methods or product improvement.
  • Use and operate tools and equipment consistent with this job.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of South Milwaukee, WI will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

Preferred Qualification

  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Position Success Criteria

  • Ability to read and use drawings, routings, blueprints, specifications, and other shop documents
  • Ability to operate tools and equipment
  • Must be able to lift 44 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to walk/stand for an 8 hour shift with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work overtime if required
