The Opportunity

The Chief Accountant and Controller is a critical hire for Mosaic. Mosaic has experienced consistent and impressive growth, and the expectations for future growth and continued market leadership remain very high. To achieve the desired success, the financial strategy, alignment, and operations must deliver at the highest level of performance. The Chief Accountant and Controller will be charged with setting the new standard for accounting excellence at Mosaic. This position will have a profound impact on the future of Mosaic at a defining moment in the evolution of the company. The Chief Accountant and Controller will need to have demonstrated success working in an organization that has an unwavering commitment to brand, product excellence, and end user experience. The ability to effectively work with technology executives is essential.

Responsibilities

Financial Accounting and Reporting:

  • Leads all accounting and reporting activities at Mosaic, requiring substantial interaction with business leaders and third-party providers.
  • Supervisory direction of accounting activities, including focus on partnering with Tech and data providers for high-quality outcomes.
  • Ensures that all reporting requirements are met; provides adequate structure and discipline around internal controls and the closing process.
  • Creates rigorous financial models and executes sound financial analysis.

Technical Accounting Policy:

  • Drives all accounting technical analysis related to deals and transactions, partnering closely with the Business in advising on terms.
  • Highly dynamic, entrepreneurial business model provides many opportunities to be involved in transactions across all areas of the Business as well as HR and other support areas.

Business Financial Analysis and Guidance:

  • Respected financial leader, driving monthly reporting of financial statements, analysis of actuals vs forecast/budget, statements of cash flow, KPIs and other related analysis. Based on these reports, proactively provides analysis and recommendations to the leadership team.
  • Enhances current financial and management reporting with more analytics and metrics to track business performance.
  • Monitors key performance indicators and conducts substantive, proactive analysis to raise emerging issues, threats, and/or opportunities to the leadership team.
  • Assesses and evaluates financial performance of the business against its operational goals.

Reporting:

  • Drives the monthly reporting of financial statements, profit and loss statements, forecast versus budget reports, statements of cash flow, and other related documents.
  • Based on these reports, proactively provides analysis and recommendations to the leadership team.
  • Enhances current management reporting with more analytics and metrics to track business performance.

Controls:

  • Ensures that sound financial controls, policies, and procedures are in place to adequately safeguard the Company's assets and accurately report results.

Talent Development:

  • Evaluates accounting talent and builds a world-class accounting team at all levels and develops staffing plans to support the business demands.
  • Serves as a coach and mentor to high potential employees, giving them career-broadening opportunities.
  • Helps educate the organization on best-in-class accounting practices and processes.

High-profile financial leader, leading key finance interactions with the

  • CEO and Operating Committee, the Board of Directors, and external interactions including external auditors, bank and capital partners, and investors.
  • Works with the CFO to communicate with third parties regarding the Company's financial performance, trends, and outlook, as needed.

Compensation: The base salary range for this position is $210,000 - $260,000. The position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. In addition, we're proud to offer a range of competitive benefits.
