The LaFayette Hotel is seeking a detail oriented, and results driven Hotel Accountant responsible for recording the financial activities of the hotel and generating accurate financials in accordance with GAAP and company standards.

Job Summary:

Responsibilities include processing income and payroll journals; process invoices and vendor payments;

reconcile bank account; report sales and occupancy taxes; record journal entries and assist corporate

accountants in month end closing process and prepare financials on a timely basis.

Job Duties:

  • Review daily import files from PMS and POS for accuracy before recording to Accounting system.
  • Reconcile daily cash and credit card payments to PMS and POS records and resolve cash variances, including petty cash.
  • Record ACH and Wire deposits and payments reflected on the bank account.
  • Review and record payroll journals.
  • Review invoices against PO’s and contracts; review statements, account for credits and processtimely payments to vendors.
  • Reconcile, file, and pay sales and occupancy tax liabilities.
  • Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
  • Record journal entries for month end closing.

Qualifications:

  • Accounting and Hotel experience required.
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Effective verbal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in any accounting software, excel and ability to comprehend system integrations
  • Experience in SAGE Accounting, StayNTouch, Toast and Plate IQ a plus
  • Accounting degree/certificate a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $68,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
