Position Summary:

Provides direct and indirect patient care in the OR setting utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Communicates with surgeon and anesthesiologist continuously and as needed about patient condition. Communicates effectively with all members of the health care team, as appropriate, about changes in the patient’s condition or response to treatment. Assists with the maintenance of surgical equipment and inventory. Participates in performance improvement activities.


Require
Required Education:

  • Associate’s degree is required
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred

Required License:

  • Registered Nurse in North Carolina is required (or compact state)

Required Certification:

  • American Heart Association BLS is required
  • Additional certifications as required by department

Other:

  • 1 year of experience in a health care setting is preferred
