Your responsibilities

Summary of Position:

Oversee the development of a total quality environment with an emphasis on unexcelled customer satisfaction and continual quality improvement. Accomplish quality related objectives using quality meetings, planning, training, statistics, and internal/external audits. Ensure that processes and products are following the Quality Management System. Coach operations employees to achieve optimum levels of quality and productivity while meeting operational deadlines and budgets. This includes ensuring that they receive all necessary quality related training and education. As necessary, work with plant management to take action to correct poor quality performance and/or poor behavior that puts the employee or team at risk or impacts the team’s ability to achieve its objectives.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Meet all Quality Control objectives, projects, and deadlines.
  • Teach, coach, and demonstrate work activities for team members.
  • Conduct initial as well as recurring training for operations employees.
  • Ensure adherence to quality control policies and procedures to ensure the highest level of product and process quality.
  • Perform material inspections and resolve all mill and customer claims.
  • Complete PPAP, corrective action, and 8-D analysis paperwork as required.
  • Perform internal and external audits of quality-related policies and processes.
  • Prepare and present reports as assigned, including tracking KPI’s and leading monthly/quarterly quality management reviews.
  • Participate, support, and comply with all health, safety, quality, and Lean initiatives and requirements.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • College degree or certificate in a technical area or related field or relevant work experience
  • 3 years’ experience in an industrial, maintenance environment
  • Demonstrated leadership and team building skills.
  • Good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of quality management systems applicable to the business

Preferred Requirements:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in Operations or Quality, with stainless steel or aluminum flat role products, in metals distribution or fabrication.
  • Familiarity with IATF or ISO certification methodology.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
