Our Community Planning & Resilience Division includes community planners, federal grants management experts, and software service providers delivering a diverse suite of services in support of our clients. Our portfolio includes projects within urban planning, housing, economic development, community engagement, disaster recovery, mitigation, and grants management.

Within the Quality Assurance function, the QA Tester will define and continuously improve procedures for quality assurance and create, execute, and maintain test cases to ensure quality control standards are achieved. This person will work as a member of the agile team to deliver the functionality as defined by the technical leads and work under the direction of the project manager.

Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Develop and execute test cases, scripts, plans and procedures (manual and automated) at the UI and database level.
• Document tests so other team members and other testers can run the tests.
• Write bug reports and maintain bug tracking.
• Help to reproduce and isolate customer reported bugs.
• Advocate for the bugs/product changes that will help overall customer experience.
• Be involved in analyzing requirements during the requirements analysis phase of projects
• Collaborate and closely works with the developers by documenting the issues/bugs with steps to recreate.
• Work with Product owner to prioritize issues in situations needing escalated release scheduling.
• Participate in a daily Agile Scrum meeting to report status and blockers.
• Willingness to learn and collaborate with the team members to implement automated testing.

Experience/Skills Required

• Familiarity with entire software development life cycle and test cycles (unit, user acceptance, regression, performance, functional, systems, stress and scale, smoke and sanity).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in manual testing.
• Experience with Automated testing using Selenium or other tools is a plus.
• A good working knowledge of test management software, programming languages, and QA methodologies.
• Experience creating test cases for Mobile apps.
• Knowledge of utilizing automated testing in a CI/CD environment.
• Experience in 508 compliance testing will be a plus.
• Working knowledge of basic SQL and one or more database tools like SQL Developer, Toad, or PL/SQL developer.
• Familiar with one or more software code repositories like GitHub, SVN, Bitbucket, or TFS.
• Familiar with Micro-Service endpoint testing of RESTful services and JSON format – optional.
• Familiarity with Project Collaboration tools like JIRA, Confluence, Monday.com, Slack, Teams etc.
• Strong attention to detail and work ethic using analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work within project deadlines.
• Experience working on multiple projects.

Required Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or in pursuit of a degree in Computer Science, or equivalent knowledge with 3 years of relevant work experience.
