Job Description

Project Manager for ASIC COT

We are looking for a Project Manager to manage engineering projects at Ericsson’s Austin R&D Center for the COT organization. COT is a new digital ASIC back-end design organization within Ericsson, rapidly growing in size and capability.

As Project Manager, your primary role is to clarify scope, bridge communication among stakeholders, monitor progress, remove obstacles, and drive the project to closure. You will utilize your problem-solving skills daily… thinking outside the box to resolve issues and mitigate project risk. Your love of data will empower you… collecting data, analyzing data, then forecasting and making decisions based on the data.

This role requires a high-level of autonomy, and the ideal candidate must be comfortable working with ambiguity. However, you will be supported by an experienced team of leaders with whom you will be an equal partner in success.

You will:

  • Drive ASIC engineering projects to closure
  • Work with stakeholders to clarify requirements and define milestones
  • Apply project management fundamentals to ensure seamless execution of engineering projects
  • Bridge communication gaps between engineering teams and external stakeholders
  • Identify inefficiencies and drive continuous improvements within the engineering organization’s day-to-day operations
  • Help define, collect, and analyze engineering productivity metrics
  • Proactively build relationships within the leadership and engineering teams to optimize collaboration

To be successful in the role, you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in EE or CE (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 10 years of experience in a technical leadership role
    (e.g. Project Management, Engineering Management)
  • Working knowledge of ASIC Design flow
  • Aptitude to learn new IT tools and applications quickly
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Solid understanding of Project Management fundamentals
  • Interpersonal skills (ability to build relationships and rapport with stakeholders)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

It would be a plus if you also had:

  • Experience in ASIC/SoC logic design, verification, physical design and/or validation
  • Experience with Project Tracking software (JIRA, Monday or similar)
  • Experience using SharePoint or Confluence
  • PMP or CAPM certification
