Job Responsibilities and Qualifications:

  • Under general supervision, the Engineer I will perform assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles.
  • This includes learning chemical processes and what happens in those processes.
  • They are typically responsible for learning a small process area or multiple pieces of simple equipment.
  • This position is responsible for the operations, metrics, governmental, environmental and contractual requirements of the operation they have been assigned.
  • Conducts day-to-day surveillance of operations, running Engineering Applications and conducting performance analysis, benchmarking and evaluation.
  • Participates in risk assessments, forecasts and plans medium term needs to meet operational requirements, and responds to operational changes and needs.
  • Participates in the creation of Approval for Expenditure (AFE) and studies to solve recurring problems.
  • Prepares reports and participates in the knowledge management processes.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering is required and 2 or more years of engineering experience.
