Welcome to Alpine Intel, a leader in the property insurance intelligence industry. We are currently seeking a full-time Payroll Manager to join our growing team in Louisville, KY.
The Payroll Manager will oversee and supervise the organization’s payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. This role will work cross-functionally with other departments to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of payroll and other compensation-related matters.

Key Responsibilities :
  • Conducts regular meetings with respective business units and establishes strategic partnerships with the relevant leadership teams.
  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Monitors and maintains all applicable payroll tax accounts with state, local and other agencies.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Fields and addresses questions from employees regarding payroll and related matters.
  • Produces periodic reporting to management to include analytical summaries.
  • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Direct supervisory responsibility over assigned employees.
  • Interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department as needed.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required.
  • Three to five years of Payroll Manager experience required.
  • Must have previous supervisory experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  • Experience with Paycor is highly preferred, but experience with other payroll systems will also be considered.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Must thrive in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and lead projects from inception to completion.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with payroll software.
Physical Requirements:
  • Works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties.
  • Noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office.
  • Incumbent may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday.
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to 25 pounds.
