Physician Practice Support (PPS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Community Health Systems (CHS).


Summary: Assists patients and clinics with inquiries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Answers patient inquiries regarding accounts and responds to voicemails within 2 Business Days

Processes received mail within timely manner (2 Business Days)

Processes and posts credit card payments daily in accordance with policy

Verifies insurance coverage as communicated by the patient prior to adding coverage in the Athena software and sets the claim for rebilling

Establishes payment arrangements according to policy(s) as requested

Closes Payment/Deposit batches daily/monthly as requested

Logs calls in Ticketing System for both inbound and outbound calls

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities

Education and/or Experience Preferred: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 2 years experience resolving patient concerns including a general knowledge of insurance billing requirements and account follow-up procedures; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of general computer applications and practice management systems.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus. Experience

Preferred
