The Riverside County Department of Child Support Services is accepting applications for Paralegal II. The selected candidate will support attorney staff in court preparation and follow-up, including by meeting and conferring with litigants prior to their court hearing date. Draft legal pleadings and negotiate stipulations under the guidance and direction of the attorneys. Contact case participants, employers, financial institutions, etc. for purposes of discovery. Provide training to non-legal staff on topics related to gathering necessary information to allow Paralegals to determine next appropriate action. Other duties as assigned in support of the Legal Division.
Competitive candidates will possess knowledge and experience with Child Support Services, Family Law, working or volunteering in social services, community services or in retail/customer service. Desired candidates will be proficient in all Microsoft office applications, have the ability to work well both independently and collaboratively with a team; highly organized yet flexible to changing assignments and priorities.
Bilingual-Spanish preferred but not required.
No telecommuting the first 6 months, may be available 1 day per week on a 5/40 schedule or 1 day every other week on a 9/80 schedule as business needs permit.
