Mount Sinai’s Faculty Primary Care Practice is located at 235 E. 85th Street and our Specialty Care Practice is located at 5 E. 98th street, both on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
This position is part of the clinical team in the practice which has 19-23 providers and sees approximately 250 patients/day. The position is full time (37.5 hours/week) and the practice hours are 8:00am – 7:00pm; we ask that staff be able to work flexible hours within that time frame (some days to start early and leave at 5:00pm or start later and work until 7:00pm.) The job also requires occasional Saturday mornings (when a Saturday morning is worked, the employee is given time off during the week.)

The Licensed Practical Nurse is a professional individual who supports quality patient care, performs routine examinations, assists physicians and registered nurses with daily clinical activity and performs standard diagnostic procedures.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Plans and manages patient care according to each patient’s needs.
2. Interviews patients and records their medical history and physical condition. Obtains patient vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration.
3. Provides routine care for patients.
4. Assists physicians and registered nurses.
5. Communicates with patients and their families.
6. Communicates with patients and their families.
7. Prepares specimens for lab courier.
8. Administers medications. Provides wound care. Prepares and administers injections.
9. Verifies that patient charts are updated promptly and accurately. Observes and records patients’ conditions and reactions to medications and treatment.
10. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education:
Completion of a New York State-approved training program in licensed practical nursing.
BLS certification

1-2 years recent nursing experience

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $45,000.00 - $67,500.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need.
