A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PATENT PROSECUTION LEGAL ASSISTANT
As one of our Patent Prosecution Legal Assistants, you play an essential role in enhancing the effectiveness of our patent prosecution attorneys by performing a variety of duties such as drafting and formatting client letters, templates for legal documents, signature documents for inventors; managing calendars for disclosure meetings; making travel arrangements; and being familiar with United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) process and procedures while filing application and prosecution documents through the USPTO electronic filing system.
With your strong organizational skills and attention to detail, you effectively prioritize and manage requests from multiple attorneys. You take necessary direction from them, and from there you work independently with little or no supervision. You are a team player and contribute to the success of not only your assigned attorneys, but also your co-workers and the firm as a whole.
SKILLS, ABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Are you proficient in USPTO electronic filings, and Microsoft Office? Are you able to effectively manage multiple tasks with competing priorities? Do you have can-do attitude with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal?
