  • New guest suite over an existing garage.
  • Whole house remodel and master suite addition, with a new garage and shop.
  • New detached accessory dwelling unit.
  • Kitchen remodel for some great three-peat clients.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES + EXPECTATIONS

Our Lead Carpenters play a critical role at Rainbow Valley. They are the go-to people on the job from start to finish. Leads are the gatekeepers of quality (looks good and lasts a long time) construction. They work daily with the project managers who are coordinating subs, schedule, client expectations and budget. Lead carpenters will consult with our designers to come up with creative solutions to unique construction challenges. They are the job site captains, keeping the crew engaged, learning, working safely and advancing the project. They make sure the job site is organized, safe and has the resources needed to keep the project moving.

Expectations for the most qualified candidate include:

  • Capable of leading and performing all construction tasks on complex residential remodels and new custom homes from start to finish.
  • By “Construction Tasks” we mean demolition, layout, framing, window/door installation, siding, cabinetry installation, and trim/finish carpentry both paint and stain grade. We sub out all the traditional roles such as electrical, plumbing, insulation, roofing, tile, flooring, drywall, paint, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents and redlined permit sets.
  • Be an outstanding communicator.
  • Familiarity with MS Office products and the ability to do some estimating take-offs is not required but is helpful.
  • Own a reliable vehicle capable of carrying tools and materials.
  • Due to our insurance policy requirements: have a clean driving record (“clean” = no DUIs or have an excessive number or severity of traffic violations (3-year look back).

THIS JOB IS FOR YOU IF YOU…

  • Take pride in your craft and strive to create functional, beautiful and lasting homes.
  • You work well in a dynamic team setting.
  • You love to keep projects moving forward and seek efficiencies without sacrificing quality.
  • You appreciate that our clients are part of our team and enjoy working with them to meet their goals and expectations.
  • You keep your receipts and paperwork organized and are timely with your communication.
  • You find joy in problem solving/pivoting/finding solutions.
  • Safety is a high priority.
  • You want a career with opportunities for growth and advancement - not just a J.O.B.
