Your Role
As a Gensler Interior Designer, your job is to combine creativity and technical knowledge to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients. With you as part of the design team, interiors have never been so engaging. You will be involved in the design and delivery of workplace interiors projects, responsible for coordinating the day-to-day process for the design with the client, junior designers, technical team and consultants.
What You Will Do
- Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams on varying project types.
- Involvement in entire project process, translating client programming requirements through conceptual design, development of construction documents and into construction.
- Prepare schematic design Vision & Goals and initial design concept presentation. Prepare the floor plans, ceiling plans, finish plans and specifications, interior elevations, millwork and interior details and FF&E selections & specifications.
- Prepare the interior finish and FFE specifications. Prepare FF&E bid documents.
- Work with consultants, furniture dealers, product reps, and fabricators to meet overall project objectives.
- Assist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination.
- Contribute to office activities, initiatives and learning programs.
- Establish and maintain ongoing, productive client relationships.
- Excellent storytelling ability with a multidimensional approach and leveraging brand experience would be a plus.
Your Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as an interior designer, with a focus on corporate/workplace interiors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field from an accredited school.
- Professional licensure required.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Enscape, 3D and other modeling software programs.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications.
- Strong graphics and visualization skills to communicate design ideas.
- Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development.
- Ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly.
- Strong leadership, organization, communication and relationship management skills.
- Experience in design methods and techniques as well as construction documentation and construction administration.
