Job Description

MSA SecurityA, An Allied Universal® Company, is hiring a Human Resources Generalist. The Human Resources Generalist role is both hands-on and strategic in that this person provides both day to day HR support to employees in the Northeast, while also providing project management and support to Human Resources initiatives. This role is critical in executing company-wide projects, managing change, and driving process improvements while providing superior customer support. This role requires someone who has a strong HR foundational understanding along with the ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time. The individual will help on-board new hires, develop communications to share key messages to all employees, focus on employee engagement, and finish provide leadership on DEI Initiatives. This role may also support the HR function by managing and driving projects from initial concept through successful change management and final implementation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the on-boarding experience for new employees, working in collaboration with other areas, such as IT, Operations, HR, Finance, etc. to ensure the best experience for those.
  • Address employee issues by working with the appropriate supervisor/manager to identify possible solutions and coach/counsel both on potential next steps.
  • Support change management initiatives by drafting communications, identifying potential barriers, seeking input from impacted stakeholders, and coaching leaders.
  • Own major end-to-end processes and events on a project, take initiative, and use problem solving skills to think beyond the task to the outcome that needs to be achieved.
  • Work closely across HR and other departments to build processes that allow changes to have the least amount of impact on our field employees.
  • Independently gather information from a variety of sources; analyze, interpret, and summarize data gathered, and eventually deliver insights that allow business decisions to be made.
  • Provide leadership thought and ideas on DEI initiatives and ways to improve both the environment and the representation within the organization.
  • Establish partnerships and consult with key business stakeholders and HR team members to foster teamwork, collaboration, and learning within the HR team, contributing to a positive work environment.
  • Working with HR partners and Operations, diagnose supervisor skill gaps and identify possible training solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree in Business, Human Resources or related degree
  • Minimum of five (5) years of HR experience, dealing with employee issues and managing initiatives
  • Manage all aspects of Collective Bargaining Agreements to ensure compliance, fulfillment of technical requirements, and awareness of Company philosophies regarding union relations; build and maintain strong relationships with union representatives to minimize labor relations issues, conduct supervisor/manager training to strengthen consistent application of policies and procedures, and manage all grievances in a timely and effective manner.
  • Prior experience working in a union environment.
  • Experience driving effective change management techniques and implementation including communications plans.
  • Strong strategic orientation, analytical skills, critical thinking ability
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, including ability to lead, influence, and motivate others.
  • Demonstrated ability to manipulate and analyze data and to present information in a way that allows leaders to make decisions.
  • Outstanding ability to manage relationships and balance customer, project, organization, and team needs to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Excellent consultative skills and ability to communicate effectively across varied stakeholder audiences, including senior leaders.
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to take the ideas of someone else and craft it into messages or announcements for broader audiences.
  • Proven ability to work with minimal guidance, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and take initiative even under unfamiliar or ambiguous circumstances.
  • Well organized, able to prioritize work, manage time effectively, and follow through on commitments.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Able to travel occasionally, as needed (15%)
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate training to include the development of training materials as well as delivery.
  • Certificate in HR Management through a University, Professional Human Resources (PHR) certification or higher
  • Proficient skills in Human Resources Information System (HRIS) applications
  • Proficient skills in the use of Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
  • Prior Human Resources experience in a service industry business

Pay Rate: $85,000 to $90,000 year.
