Job Description

The CRE Transactor Sr Grp Manager manages a teams. In-depth understanding of how own sub-function contributes to achieving the objectives of the function. A good understanding of the industry, direct competitors' products and services, is also necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the relevant part of the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/or area of expertise and related subject areas. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication/negotiation may be necessary. Responsible for executing functional strategy in area managed. Determines approach to implementing functional strategy. Accountable for end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation and contribution to future strategy of the area(s). Impact reflects size of team managed, strategic influence on the business and interaction with other functions or businesses. Full management responsibility for multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval. May be doing involved or responsible for diverse (cross-discipline) activities. Typically, a direct report to a C16 role and function as an intergral member of the functional leadership team within a country/site location, job family, or line of business.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with the Global Product Head and Regional IF Head, define and manage execution of product-specific business strategies, annual budgets and targets and oversee team in the delivery of them.
  • Establish a culture of continuous improvement to ensure compliant robust business processes are in place and audit readiness is evident.
  • Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations, as well as Citi’s policies and the Product Program.
  • Lead origination activity , working closely with GMM’s (Global Market Managers) and bankers to develop and enhance client relationships and ensure the highest level of client service and delivery of appropraite client solutions
  • Oversee relationships with key senior-level clients and liaising with external UHNW clients and act as a technical expert / product specialist to provide appropraite solutions
  • Develop and enhance internal relationship and act as a proactive partner with the business
  • Attraction, recruitment and retention of key skills. Manage, mentor, coach and develop key talent within the business
  • Ensuring that as a business, the maintenance of credit standards, response time, delivery of quality work, training and development and balancing/prioritising of workload is adhered to
  • Exercise managerial authority over instituting and implementing overall strategy for the product
  • Serve as member in relevant product governance forum and attend regional governance meetings as appropriate
  • Partners with the Risk Organization to manage processes and respond to issues to mitigate risk and ensure compliance
  • Direct professional team in driving the development and execution of strategic business plans, policies, and procedures for the product
  • Understand and anticipate clients' needs, following up with effective products and financial solutions
  • Maximize revenue generation whilst achieving at least minimum return targets ensuring responsible lending growth
  • Responsible for oversight of appropriate transaction structuring and execution (within programs) with appropriate risk and return characteristics, ensuring appropriate Credit Policy and Risk Acceptance standard compliance
  • Revenue Generator in own right, also Leads regional product team providing oversight, mentoring, coaching and supports them in origination and transaction structuring, underwiring, approval, documentation and monitoring as needed
  • Responsible for the early problem recognition process and must propose, when deemed appropriate, credit classification and appropriate risk rating on specific transactions/ relationships
  • Support Management of the Product Program.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience
  • Extensive credit and structured products experience with UHNW clients essential
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Abilty to drive and manage quality revenue lines

Education:

  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred
