STARTING SALARY: $15.20 - $17.50/hour
STATUS: Seasonal (part-time, non-benefitted, <29 hours/week). Includes Golf Privileges. 10-29 hours/week. Early start time 7:00am. Required to work select weekends and holidays as scheduled. Seasonal employment lasting into Fall 2023 (depending on weather conditions).
DEPARTMENT: River Oaks Golf Course – Parks and Recreation
SUMMARY: Under the close supervision of the Golf Division Manager, performs skilled work pertaining to Golf Course Grounds maintenance and care.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High School education or equivalent preferred, but not required. Some related work experience preferred, but not required. Must be at least 16 years old to apply. Must possess a valid Utah Driver’s License. Knowledge of tools, machines, and equipment used in the maintenance and construction of City parks, athletic fields, the cemetery and recreation facilities; OSHA safety standards; general construction practice and procedures; principles of plant and turf life. Great responsibility for the care, condition and use of materials, equipment, and tools; inform supervisor of athletic field problems that could restrict or deny field use. Communicate and work effectively verbally and in writing. Minimal to frequent contacts with other departments and the public (coaches, school children) requiring tact and judgment. Regular use of both light and heavy trucks and four-wheeled ATVs; frequent use of riding and walk-behind mowers, tractors, backhoes, and other facility, Golf Course, and athletic field maintenance related equipment. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
