Supports the Director of Athletic Grounds and Turf Maintenance with primary leadership of assigned athletics' venue(s) grounds and turf maintenance. Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing employee performance and providing feedback, and making pay recommendations. This position will interact on a regular basis with: Athletics' coaches and staff. This position typically will advise and counsel: athletics' staff, coaches, campus partners, and external partners. Job Duty 1 -
Develop and implement plans for the successful maintenance of venue turf, grounds and landscape, including but not limited to, proper irrigation, fertilization, and pesticide applications
Job Duty 2 -
Monitor quality assurance for the assigned venue(s), and provide a safe aesthetically pleasing playing surface
Job Duty 3 -
Maintain and manage assigned inventory of athletic grounds, maintenance equipment, and supplies
Job Duty 4 -
Participate in the development and implementation of grounds and landscape maintenance goals, policies, and procedures
Job Duty 5 -
Manage building scheduling and maintenance
Job Duty 6 -
Develop and execute contingency plans for emergency and severe weather scenarios
Job Duty 7 -
Ensure adherence to all federal and state regulations as related to grounds and turf maintenance

Educational Requirements
High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma
Required Experience
Five to six years of job related experience
SKILLS
This job requires working knowledge of horticultural professional principles and practices including the use of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) principles, landscape design, turf management, plant selection and cultivation; skills in supervision/leadership and landscape maintenance management; use of office related computer applications.
