Leidos has an immediate opening for FP&A Analyst to join our Defense Group's finance team in Reston - VA. This is a key role in the Finance organization responsible for supporting group-wide financial analysis and reporting. This position will support the financial forecasting of cash/working capital and backlog for the group on a recurring basis, including monthly actual analysis, fiscal year projections, and the yearly AOP and multi-year strategic plan. This role reports directly to the Defense Group Director of FP&A.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with group-wide management to create forward looking financial projections for cash and backlog and provide accompanying analysis.
• Track performance against key AOP metrics such Bookings, Cash, DWC and DSO.
• Perform data reconciliation and consolidation, as well as variance analysis.
• Perform multiple financial cost analysis functions, including cost allocation, setting up cost control systems, collecting data, controlling costs and preparing reports that maintain the company's cost accounting system.
• Collaborate with Business Development to understand and forecast pipeline, book to bill and backlog metrics
• Apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports.
• Support key weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting deliverables that track and communicate the performance of the business’s key metrics.
• Provide support to the organization in all audits, reviews, data requests, etc. during the current quarter and fiscal year.
• Directly interface with various functions within the Defense Group and serves as a resource to various stakeholders.
• Ad-hoc business performance reporting.
• Identify and communicate areas of concern to both operational and financial leadership when identified in a timely manner.
• Support the Defense leadership team with data-driven analysis.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field from an accredited college/university and less than 2 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to effectively communicate with Group leadership regarding matters of significant importance to the organization.
• Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with internal customers.
• Demonstrated experience performing Accounting, Finance, or Economics-related financial data analysis tasks.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with an ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to quickly comprehend processes and learn systems and tools.
• Ability to execute data mining and analysis and present those findings to management.
• Ability to be accountable and professional while maintaining effective interpersonal (written verbal and presentation) skills while managing multiple priorities and tasks.
• US Citizenship is required and able to obtain security clearance as needed.
