Job Description

Capital Pump & Equipment LLC (CPE) is a specialty pump rental company. The company was established in 2013 and is headquartered in Chandler, AZ with additional branches currently in Las Vegas, NV; Tucson, AZ; Safford, AZ; Salt Lake City, UT; and Albuquerque, NM. CPE is a rapid growing company with ambitions to grow into a major regional and national pump rental player. We are currently looking for a financial analyst to join our team as we move into this rapid growth phase of the business! In this position you will not only work with the Accounting and Executive team, but also cross functionally with other teams throughout the company to effectively plan and produce key budgeting and periodic forecasting to aid senior management in decision making.

Our Financial Analyst will be responsible for:

KPI's:

  • Assist in identifying and developing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) by location, rental items and product lines
  • Analyze the trends of KPIs related to financial metrics - sales, costs, and margins working with Operations
  • Monitor KPIs and identify the cause of any unexpected variances

Budgets and forecasts:

  • Assist in the development and continual improvement of:
    • Budgets - detail annual budgets by department / branch
    • Forecasts
    • Other Financial projections
  • Monitor budgets and forecasts and identify the cause of any unexpected variances from actual:
    • Detail income statement by location for month, year-to-date and prior year-to-date


Management reporting:

  • Analyze financial results to prior periods to determine key takeaways and recommendations for management
  • Support management with data-driven analysis and ad-hoc business performance reporting, as necessary
  • Develop financial models to support strategic initiatives, as necessary

Costs and Inventory:

  • Assist in the improvement of consistency and accuracy in product category reporting for rental revenue, sales & COGS
  • Assist in the implementation and report development aspect of a new fleet tracking software

Suggested Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 2+ years' experience in a public or corporate accounting, FP&A, or M&A role preferred
  • Ability to utilize project management and accounting best practices to organize and prioritize tasks
  • Excellent analytical skills as well as a strong business acumen
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional Office Suite skills, specifically Excel for modeling and data management
