Busy family law firm seeking an experienced family law paralegal. Applicant must have family law experience.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent communication skills; dependable and reliable; solution-oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat (Pdf)
  • Knowledge on E-Filing documents and complying with the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure and Florida Rules of Family Law Procedure
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude
  • Excellent proofreading and formatting skills; detail oriented
  • Ability to produce a high-quality work product
  • Must be able to meet deadlines, prioritize and plan ahead
  • Proactive and efficient self-starter, able to manage time effectively, and work

Independently without supervision

  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • High degree of ethics and integrity by maintaining good rapport with clients and other professionals
  • Reviewing and understanding documents; ability to recognize, obtain and request thedocuments that are not provided and can quickly organize and summarize contents
  • Meeting with clients, deadline management, working independently on projects
  • Transitioning from one case to another during stressful times
  • Preparing Pleadings, Motions, Orders, Child Support Guidelines, Discovery Requests and Interrogatories, Subpoena’s, Notices, Income Withholding Orders, etc.,
  • Keeping track of and recording time spent on services rendered to clients;
  • Reviewing and understanding financial documents; ability to recognize, obtain and request the documents that are not provided and can quickly organize and summarize contents
  • Scheduling Hearings, Appointments, Deadlines, answering and returning all calls and responding to emails promptly
  • Advance preparation of materials, witnesses and exhibits for Trials and other Court proceedings

EXPERIENCE

  • Family Law Paralegal: 2-3 years
  • Previous experience working in a law firm
  • Pay commensurate with experience

LOCATION & JOB TYPE

  • West Garden Street/Downtown
  • Part-time – 10 – 2, Monday through Thursday
  • Full-time – 8 – 4, Mondays through Thursdays and 8 – 12 noon, Fridays
  • Business-casual/casual work attire
  • Informal/fun working atmosphere
