Job Description

Dynetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, is seeking a talented Environmental Test Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the U.S. engaging in the intelligence, missiles, aviation, space, and cyber fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering and scientific solutions.

The successful candidate will serve as an Environmental Test Engineer that will plan and conduct electrical and environmental testing efforts regarding missile launch system hardware. Specific duties include development of test procedures utilizing electrical/mechanical test equipment, conducting test in the developmental and delivered hardware, analyzing test results, and documenting results in test reports. The candidate will be part of a test team whose work will include testing of electronic/avionic components, requirements development and review, electrical circuit testing, hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) testing, integration assembly and testing of Hypersonic Glide Body, configuration of test equipment, subsystem testing and troubleshooting. Work will be conducted in an integration/production facility along with a laboratory environment.

Basic Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent field from an ABET accredited school is required. Candidate should have at least 3+ years of relevant experience.

Experience performing the following tasks is required:

  • Planning and conducting environmental testing on system or component level hardware
  • Benchtop testing of electrical components
  • Integration testing of avionics and sub-assemblies
  • Functionality testing of integrated systems
  • Organizational skills to document test procedures, test reports and support configuration management of the test equipment

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

Other Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have the following:

  • Strong understanding of MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-810 compliance testing
  • Willing to travel to execute or witness testing (typically 2 to 4 weeks a year).

Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
